About A Good Place
"I know a good place!"
A Good Place was born from the desire to find particularly good places.
Somewhere you can get really good coffee and a well made pastry in the morning. A beautiful pub, with a roaring fire, a walk from the door and a warming lunch afterwards. Food that is properly thought about. A good glass of wine. Somewhere children are genuinely welcomed and considered. A thoughtfully designed hotel or pub with rooms, where the staff are attentive and consistent.
The sort of place that makes you look around and think:
I’d like to live here.
My career in hospitality and design has given me a particular way of looking at places. I’m interested in how they work as well as how they look; how thoughtful design, good hospitality and the details of an environment shape the way we experience a place.
And I think where we choose to live matters too. Our surroundings influence how we spend our time, how we feel and, ultimately, how we live.
A Good Place brings those ideas together.
You’ll find carefully selected coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, pubs, hotels, and shops here. But I want to know what surrounds them too: where you can walk, where you’ll find your morning coffee, where you might have Sunday lunch. And, if you really fall for somewhere, whether there is a house you could buy there.
Sometimes finding a wonderful pub in a beautiful village is the beginning of something much bigger.
And for when you simply want to bring a little bit of somewhere home with you, take a look at our Get The Look page right here on A Good Place.
Get The Look is where I share a carefully curated selection of items for the home: a divine smelling hand soap from an independent brand, a sumptuous armchair that wouldn’t look out of place in the bedroom of a wonderful pub with rooms, a particular light fitting, some exceptional linen... the small details that make a room feel considered.
These are the things I notice.
A Good Place is your reliable resource, whether you are seeking: A good place to go. A good place to stay. And perhaps, a good place to call home.
